MOAI

Moai is a spiritual successor to one of the elder gods of pixel editing: Autodesk Animator. Designed to make detailed pixel work easy while preserving many of Animator's unique processes, Moai exists to bridge the old with the new. The only things not returning are the FLI/FLC and 8bpp support. Moai is built on Allegro 4.x with a host of plugins and custom code for file formats and performance enhancements. Moai is supplied as a Win32 binary in portable form; no installation is required.

I would eventually like to port this project to Raylib, but I don't see this happening any time soon.

Moai is my daily driver for pixel art, and I've been aggressively dogfooding for a decade. There is a new release in the works (v1.8), but it will probably not see completion until 2026 or so.
